Struggle & escape
Getting out — by force, or by picking the lock.
The struggle minigame
A continuous hold-the-direction challenge, run entirely server-side. Aim the Struggle keybind at the region you want to free and drive the item's resistance down to zero — a required direction (W / A / S / D) is shown, and holding the matching key makes progress at about one resistance per second.
- The direction re-rolls every 3–5 seconds; release and re-press to react.
- A locked item adds +250 resistance on the first session.
- Struggling is noisy — it alerts nearby kidnappers and guards — and a session expires after 10 minutes. Resistance is persisted, so an interruption resumes where you left off.
Lockpicking
A Lockpick targets the lock rather than the item's resistance. Picking runs as a skill minigame: a tension bar fills as you close in on a hidden sweet spot, and a miss bounces the bar back as a tension cue telling you to adjust. Land the sweet spot to pop the lock. Success, pick-break and lock-jam chances — and how much durability a pick has — are all config-driven, so server owners tune how forgiving lockpicking is.
- You can't pick while wearing mittens, and a locked shock collar zaps you on a failure.
- Like struggling, every attempt is noisy and notifies nearby guards.
